THE YUCATAN ENVIRONMENT


 

OBJECTIVE: Identify the natural and cultural environment of the Yucatan

GRADE: 4 - 8

MATERIALS: Maps, encyclopedias

PROCEDURE:

  1. Illustrate the different species or animals indigenous to the Yucatan Peninsula.
  2. Illustrate the indigenous cultural population of the Yucatan Peninsula.
  3. Illustrate the climate and environment of the Yucatan Peninsula.

PARENT/CHILD EXPERIENCE: Parents will help their children research the animals and the cultural and climatic environment by studying maps, books, and the Internet. A trip to the library is a fun fact-finding adventure. The knowledge learned about the immediate environment can also be applied to other regions.
